The Silver Darling
Despite the fact that Aberdeen was built on its success in the fish industry and the oil industry, there’s a distinct lack of evidence of the former when it comes to restaurants. As I sit here typing, I can’t think of a single stand out seafood restaurant in Aberdeen… that is, until the Silver Darlings was recently brought back to life and up to date. Located in the former customs house at the harbour quayside, The Silver Darling has an upstairs dining area which boasts floor to ceiling glass windows, providing panoramic views of Aberdeen’s beach, harbour and the historic fishing village of Footdee. Or Fittie as it’s known to locals. A gorgeous restaurant filling the much-needed seafood gap in Aberdeen’s restaurant scene. This is where you go for a special lunch with friends, colleagues or visitors to Aberdeen - showing the city off in it's best light.
