Best Hotels with Pools, Scotland

Immerse yourself in these beautiful hotel pools to wash away your stress and worries. Some stunning Scottish countryside gems with leisure facilities here….  yes please! (And one roof top city pool thrown in for good measure.)

Hopefully I’ve provided a nice little mix in this feature - and with any luck, some you haven’t heard of before. It’s for those water babies whose idea of a holiday simply must include submerging in a bubbly Jacuzzi, some strokes prior to hitting the breakfast buffet, or just somewhere to tire out the kids.

I’ve added some of my own thoughts on categories, but of course many of these hotels are great for multiple uses.

Best for a Family Holiday – Auchrannie

Situated in the beautiful Island of Arran, Auchrannie Resort offers a luxurious, family-friendly stay with a whole array of activities suitable for all ages.  The resort features two pools – the House Hotel and Spa Resort, each offering a children’s pool.  Whether you wish to splash around in the pool or kick back and relax in the Thermal Suites, there is something that everyone can enjoy at Auchrannie.

Best for a Weekend of Golf – Dalmahoy

This is an independent hotel on the outskirts of Edinburgh looking to take their traditional hotel building dating from 1725 into the future with a recent refurb. So far they’ve completed the bedrooms and pool changing area.  The naturally lit pool at Dalmahoy offers the perfect place to unwind, whether it be following a long day of Golf on one of their two golf courses, or after a jog round their stunning countryside tracks.  Forget about life’s worries whilst relaxing on the poolside loungers or in the sauna or steam room. Whatever you prefer, be sure to build up an appetite for the delicious food you’ll be eating in the restaurant afterwards.

Located in the stunning Scottish Borders, Stobo Castle offers a peaceful break away from the mayhem that life can throw at us.  The pool area provides spectacular views across the Scottish countryside where you can choose to simply lay back on the poolside loungers and take in the views, or swim in the 25m ozone-treated pool.  For the ultimate relaxation experience Stobo offers a giant hydro spa with water jets. Of course, there are a huge variety of different treatments here – it’s one of Scotland’s only dedicated destination spa resorts.
