Crinan Ferry Experience, Winterton BnB

About

Stephanie and Adrian have created the Crinan Ferry Experience. There is Winterton, the luxury BnB, and Crinan House - which is the beautiful holiday home rental close by. This listing is all about the BnB, but Crinan House has it's own listing in the site if you'd like to see it. Imagine your friends built their dream home on a sea loch on the west coast of Scotland and they happen to be exceptional cooks, an interior designer and a hotelier. Yes, you’re starting to get the picture. I say this all the time, but honestly, this place is incredible. The most dramatic and stunning postcard perfect position ever, guests arrive and are amazed at the beauty of it all. Many people think casually, ‘oh lets explore the west coast and we’ll book BnBs as we go. DO NOT DO THIS, you’ll end up somewhere frightful. Plan your trip carefully in advance and let this be one of your stops. In fact, you could just come here and stay for 2 weeks it’s that simple. Winterton was bought by Stephanie and Adrian, they moved back from abroad for this to become their home and life’s work. They carefully renovated this old building and added the most beautiful green oak-framed extension. The house has taken time and love to renovate, it was worth it - it is now cosy but light and airy and filled with the most precious artwork - each piece has a story behind how it was procured. Winterton is a dream house on a hill with spectacular views across the historically significant Kilmartin valley and Dunadd, the place where the early Scottish Kings were crowned. It is very close to the beach and you can walk for miles right from the house. There are two beautifully furnished double rooms (king-sized beds) each with en-suite bathroom (bath and separate en-suite walk in shower in both). There’s Egyptian cotton sheets, huge fluffy towels and everything else you’d expect from a luxury BnB. You can relax in your guest living room with a crackling fire in a log burning stove, or sit back and watch the sun come up or the moon rise from the sun lounge. The breakfast is sublime, and they can cook dinner for you should you wish. The food is mainly organic or free range and is inspired by Scottish/British, Italian, Indian and Thai cuisines. There’s vegetarian and vegan options, fish and shell fish, organic poultry and game dishes. Some of their vegetables comes from their own organic vegetable garden. If the weather is kind, you can have your meal in the spacious garden. Stephanie and Adrian warmly welcome guests from all walks of life and from around the globe; they will help you with your site seeing plans, talk to you if you have something to share and respect your peace if you want to be left alone. Other Things Worthy of Note: Their minimum stay is 2 nights unless you want to book very short notice and they have a room available. Among other reasons they strongly believe that the area around Winterton deserves to be explored and you can't do this in half a day. The heating and hot water is generated by a biomass boiler and the electricity purely from sustainable sources. They have two mountain bikes for hire. Spa treatments can be organised for you in the house (massage, aromatherapy, hot stone etc). They speak German and some French. They have a much loved Labrador dog called Peggy. Above all, this is the perfect place to come and relax and recover from life’s stresses. Idyllic.
