East Haugh House Hotel and Restaurant
I have stayed at this hotel many times, and each time I have absolutely loved it, and left feeling very happy about my experience. It’s a very small hotel on the outskirts of the pretty town of Pitlochry. Pitlochry is a great spot in central Scotland which can be used as a base for further exploration in each direction. This is Scotland - so of course, you are not far from lochs and mountains and delicious countryside. East Haugh is family owned and they specialize in just being, well… lovely lovely people and having cosy bedrooms and AMAZING food. I LOVE the food here. Everything is fresh, fresh, fresh and locally sourced. They have won Fishing Hotel of the Year for 7 years' running, and have access to some of the very best fishing on the Rivers Tay and Tummel. You can also do the golf thing, or the walking or cycling thing… the staff are on hand to help you with absolutely anything and know the area well – nothing is a problem for them. I loved going down for a drink before dinner and sitting next to the fire and pouring over the delicious menu, prior to my mouth watering meal. The family owners and staff are always floating around if you fancy a blether, or can be invisible if you just want to kick back and relax in your own privacy. (Blether means chat if you aren’t familiar with this term).
