Foyers Lodge

About

(UPDATE: November 19th 2019 to January 19th 2020 discounts have been offered on stays of 2 nights or more.) Just look at this dreamy property in this dreamy location! Wow, wow, wow! This is surely the ultimate Highland setting for a special trip. A milestone birthday? Anniversary? Honeymoon even? I use the word ‘dream’ as a recurring theme throughout this listing because this place is Anna and Phil’s realised dream. The pair lived an industrious life in London for many years but returned to Anna’s homeland to take on this incredible project. Built in the 1800's, Foyers Lodge is a stunning property with unrivalled views of Loch Ness which has been painstakingly redesigned and restored by the husband and wife team. The building had fallen into disrepair but having had new ideas and much care and attention heaped upon it, now boasts stylish, traditional interiors with a contemporary twist. Just the kind of character and history you’d expect from a cosy Highland lodge, but with a cool cosmopolitan vibe. Unbelievably it turns out I went to school with Anna, although I hadn’t realised this when I first got in touch with her. I remember when she left home to attend stage school in London and hearing about her successfully winning many roles in the West End. Her grit, determination and talent led to her realising her dreams back then and things are no different now, she’s just altered the ambition a little. Let's face it, there ARE certain elements of drama and theatricality to the hospitality trade, so she’s not too far away from her former profession! The décor here is the result of conscientiously pulling everything apart, repairing and restoring the original, revamping and redesigning, redecorating and reupholstering then expertly and creatively putting it all back together again with a number of carefully curated new (and old) additions - it’s that lovely mix. It’s been an intense restoration process but they've been considerate and sensitive to the history and original character of the property. I love it. Here’s an interesting fact - the population of the Highlands is increasing for the first time in centuries. It fills me with excitement and hope. I guess there are quite a few different industries growing right now including very obviously the tourism industry. The Highlands needs more young people moving in - more people like Anna and Phil - to update things and shake things up a bit. It’s an exciting time and I want to encourage people of all ages to visit businesses like theirs so we can see things flourish in the majestic north of this country. Big plans lie ahead for Foyers Lodge but in the meantime the owners offer a boutique bed and breakfast experience. I suggest getting in there while you still can, as it is surely set to be THE place to stay when visiting Loch Ness…. and make it 2 or 3 nights for a truly relaxing, dreamy escape..... Sorry, no children under 14 or dogs – this is a place to escape and unwind. Foyers Lodge is a licensed premises. An honesty bar is available in the Sitting Room. There are currently 5 guest bedrooms available, all individually designed and priced. Instagram @foyerslodge Twitter @FoyersLodge Click on the Visit Website link below to book.

An absolute gem!

This place is a dream come true if you're looking for something special. Off the touristy routes Foyers Lodge offers blissful tranquility! Anna and Phil are wonderful hosts and we felt right at home. The bedrooms are stylish but still very comfortable. The whole place is so beautiful I wanted to take a picture of every nook and detail I could find and post it on Instagram. Thank you so much, Anna & Phil, for creating this piece of heaven and for letting us be a part of it - at least for a couple of days!
