Lindores Abbey Distillery
Soo much to say about Lindores Abbey, where do I start? Perhaps firstly I should just say that the couple behind this enterprise are two of the nicest people you could hope to meet in the Scottish tourism/drinks industry and possibly some of the most experienced too. It’s this feeling, knowledge and independent spirit that carries weight, running through the fabric of the brand and it’s distillery centre. There are many reasons why you might find yourself at Lindores Abbey – for a tour of the distillery, a wedding or private event, or an afternoon Whisky Champagne tea…. Whisky lovers simply MUST Pilgrimage here to the ‘spiritual home of Scottish Whisky’ where the earliest accounts of Whisky distilling have been found!! The apothecary sessions at Lindores Abbey Distillery sound m-a-g-i-c-a-l! Perfect for a chic hen/stag activity. Get hands on in making your own delicious version of AquaVitae using herbs, spices and spirit essences. It will last about 2.5 hours and include a tour, tasting and a small bottle of your own hand-labelled AquaVitae to enjoy at home. They are exceptionally well kitted out for weddings and private events too, as you can see from the pics. There is an incredible variety of lovely, lovely different spaces, so you could have an event that starts outside, then work your way in for food, then onto the bar etc – there are so many fabulous options. The food ideas too sound mouthwatering. Lindores Abbey have a very experienced dedicated events team to assist with all of your needs, whether it be a wedding, intimate dinner or outdoor celebration with food trucks. I must also mention the afternoon teas. You can book a whisky and Champagne afternoon tea for a very reasonable £25, which sounds heavenly. Whisky, Champagne and scones are three of my favourite things. I simply love love love this new, but very old establishment - I almost want to keep this listing secret.
