Mount Stuart is located on the beautiful island of Bute. Bute is one of the most accessible of the westerly isles from the Scottish Central Belt, being only 33 miles from Glasgow. It’s a peaceful island haven, just a stone’s throw away from the mainland. This nineteenth-century neo-gothic mansion is set in 300 acres of grounds which include designed gardens, woodland and coast. I really felt this venue was worth including on the site as it’s such a stunning location for a destination wedding. They also have some very refined looking self-catering properties, perfect for the wedding party or for holidays - including the stunning Kean’s cottage. Hardly a cottage really, but more like quite a grand Georgian home. I think this would be a lovely spot for a family holiday, especially if you decide to go over on the first weekend of May, when the island hosts its annual Isle of Bute Jazz festival, which has been running some 35 years to date.
