These are exciting, modern, stone houses built using traditional methods in Ullapool – the gateway to the North West Highlands. (Curved Stone House sleeps 4 and Treetop House sleeps 3). The owners, Gavin and Rachel Anderson, and a team of local crafts people and artisans, actually built these incredible properties themselves. Designed by a talented local Hebridean architect (Stuart Bagshaw) with the aim of bringing together traditional building techniques with modern design and environmental considerations. They are hugely environmentally friendly because they are so extremely insulated. There is a spacious sauna, under floor heating and a wood-burning stove, so you will be toasty warm in winter. Or book for summer when all the luscious greenery is out around you. There are beautiful views, being so up high, and secluded private areas to sit outside. Because these houses are so unique, they get very booked up - so think about booking for next year, right now!
